Default way:
- Open any web browser and type 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.0.1).
- Wait for the page to load up.
- At the password screen enter the username: admin and enter the password: admin.
- Wait until the page loads up.
- You have successfully accessed your router’s admin panel.
Alternate way:
- Go to http://speedport.ip from any web browser.
- Click on ‘Router Admin Page’.
- Once the page loads up, simply login using the default credentials.
In case you find the default credentials too naive or weak then you can get them changed at any point of time. In fact, even the router brands encourage people to set a powerful administrator password. Here is how you can do that:
- Go to your web browser.
- Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit Enter.
- Login using the default credentials (admin and admin).
- Once you are inside the admin setup panel, go to Setup & Maintenance.
- Setup & Maintenance > Users > Admin.
- Change the username and password from over there and click on save.
- Wait for the router to restart and your login password will be changed.
Changing the WiFi name and password

- Login to your router’s admin setup panel using the steps given earlier.
- Go to Wireless > Select your wireless mode (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz) > Security Settings.
- Over there you will see SSID and WPA pre-shared key.
- The SSID is your wireless name. Change it as per your liking.
- Make sure that you have WPA pre-shared key checked and then select the security mode: WPA-2/PSK (most secure).
- Set the pre-shared key, or the WiFi password (choose a strong password).
- Once you are done with setting an SSID and password, click on save.
- The router will reboot. Wait for it to restart in order for the settings to be effective.

How to factory reset the router?
In case you wish to restart the router management process then you can always factory reset it. Here is how you can do that:
- Login to the admin setup panel.
- Go to Setup & Maintenance.
- Go to Factory Reset > Click on Factory Reset Router.
- Wait for the router to restart.
- Factory settings will be applied after it restarts.
