192.168.254.254 is the default (private) IP address that is used by a variety of router makers. It is similar to 192.168.1.1, only its channel is different and hence the entire gateway is different. It is the unique code using which your router can establish a connection between the internet and your system. 192.168.254.254 address is used by a number of devices like PLDT, Google At Home and other services that can be configured using the router-admin-panel. After that open the command prompt (Start > Type Command Prompt > Click on it when it shows).
Once you are inside the command prompt, type ipconfig and hit Enter.
It will show you a number of internet connections. Notice the one that says – Wireless LAN Adapter Wi-Fi.
The desired IP address is mentioned under the Default Gateway option.

Go to the login key.
Change it to whatever you want to (just be sure to note it down somewhere).
Change the login username as well.

You should never keep the default settings for your WiFi (native SSID and no password). It is highly unsecured and thus, here is what you need to do:

Ensure that your device is connected to the same WiFi network.
Open any web browser of your choice.
Login to the router’s admin interface (steps already given above).
Once inside, go to WiFi Settings.
Select the WiFi network of your choice – 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. Note that the steps to change the SSID and password are the same for both network types.
