- Start by opening your system browser and type your IP Address and click on Enter. This is to open the Admin page for Wi-Fi Management.
- Some of the Browsers like Google Chrome have safety options enabled, so when the pop-up screen appears select the Advanced option and then click on 10.0.1.1, which can be different depending on your IP Address.
- Now on the Wi-Fi management page type your login details and this will take you to the router settings.
- After logging in a page as shown below appears. On this click on the Advanced button which is the second option from the top.
- Now on your left, you will find a Firmware update section, click on it and a screen as shared below will appear.
- After a few seconds, a page appears with the details of the firmware and it also states that a “New firmware is found. Do you want to update the firmware?”
- Now click on the yes button present below the dialogue box.
- After the download is complete, a new window will appear which will display the status of the firmware update.
- Now you can see that the router is getting updated. Once it is completed it shows a message stating that the router is rebooting.

If you have the Linksys Router, first search for its model number either from its guide or from an online website. Then you can continue the following steps to have the updated version of your Router.
Follow these steps to guide
- Start by opening your Web browser and type the IP Address and search for it. This will display the Wi-Fi management page.
- Once the window opens type in the login details of your router like the username and password.
- Now click on the Administration on the top.
- And then on the left click Firmware Upgrade.
- Now click on the Browse option then click on the file that is downloaded.
- Now select the option to Start Upgrade.
- Then wait for the update to be completed.
- Once the process is done the update is successful.

TP-Link routers can be updated by downloading the latest software online from their website. Follow these simple steps once you download it.
- From the browser download the file. It downloads in a zip folder format. Unzip the file and choose a location where you will prefer it to be installed.
- Now type your router’s admin details and this will log in to the main page.
