Asus Router Login is exclusively a feature of all Asus-manufactured routers. This includes the Moglix, ROG, and RT series of modems/routers that are widely used. These devices today do not require any setup file execution; instead, you can use the admin panel.
The panel or page contains a self-installation tool that can easily run on any connected device. It has a GUI-based architecture that makes it very easy to understand. The user-friendly nature of the Asus Router Login page comes in handy when tweaking/configuring the modem. This page can be accessed by the following address: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Alternatively, you can also click on the given links: http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1.
In case you are not sure about the router’s IP address, here is what you can do –
- Connect your Windows desktop/laptop to the Asus modem’s network. The steps will work for both wired and/or wireless connections.
- Click on the Start Menu > Type Run > Press Enter.
- Open the Command Prompt > Type ipconfig > Press Enter.
- It will display the list of active internet connections. If you have connected using WiFi, look for wireless LAN (otherwise, Ethernet LAN).
- The IP Address is given under the Default Gateway option.
How to login to the Asus Router Login page and Setup
Since you already know the IP Address now, you should log in to the admin panel first to set up the router. The setup steps are pretty easy –
-
- Connect the Asus router to a desktop or laptop (wired/wireless).
- Open any web browser (we recommend Safari and Chrome).
- Go to the address bar and type 192.168.1.1. Alternatively, you can also click on this URL: http://192.168.1.1.
- On the login page, enter the default credentials for your router (that can be found inside the box).
- Here are the credentials:
- Username: admin
- Pwd: password
- Press Enter, and you will be logged in.
The setup page should load up automatically. There are a couple of steps related to self-assessment (of the network) that the router should perform. The Asus router will recognize, analyze and deploy the internet after reading through the internet speed, latency etc.
Alternatively, you can also choose the set-up type by yourself. This includes selecting the network security, manual IP address, subnet etc. The router will send you a successful connection message once everything is fine.
Change the login credentials
Since many people can guess the login credentials, we recommend you get them changed/updated. But wait, is that harmful? Consider this – you have a lot of devices connected to your Asus internet network, and someone logs into the router/modem admin panel.
The admin panel has stuff like MAC addresses, device IP addresses, session history, data ping history, and much more. All of this information is highly sensitive, and hackers can even harm your smartphones, tablets, and computers easily. So, here is how you can change the credentials –
- Once you have logged into the Asus Router Login page > Go to Router Maintenance (or Admin Maintenance).
- Select the Admin username > Create a new password > Type the password twice.
- Click on Apply and Update.
- It will take a while to load up.
- Done.
How to change the WiFi SSID and Password using the Asus Router Login page
Normally, all new wireless connections do not come with password protection. Even their wireless names are randomized. Thus, to secure your WiFi connection, you need to change the SSID and the password for your wireless internet connection. It can be done using the given steps –
- Login to the Asus Router’s admin panel.
- Go to WLAN Setup > Select your WiFi type (2.4G/5G).
- Select the WPA2-PSK option for security encryption. It will ask you to enter a WiFi password.
- After entering the password, select the SSID name of your choice.
- Once you are done with the steps, click on Apply & Update.
- The router will reboot.
- Your new settings will be applied once it turns on.
- Done.
